Little Miss Sunshine is now sitting cheerfully on the church planter bench as part of the Village Scarecrow Trail. Created and installed by Floral Friends volunteers she will brighten everyone's day!
A New Look for the Old Planters
Monday 26th October 2020
Floral Friends volunteers are currently replacing and refurbishing planters round the village. Planters which have ben replaced with the new half barrel planters are now being cleaned and oiled before being used to replace worn planters round the village. Surplus planters are being sold to fund our floral displays.
Saturday 17th October 2020
Floral Friends' Autumn displays are well underway right now. Over the next few days all the planters will be replanted with seasonal displays including violas, polyanthus and bellis. Thank you to all who have helped by donating time, plants or funding - it is all much appreciated.
Sunday 4th October 2020
Floral Friends have started to change their seasonal displays around the village. This Autumn we will be replacing some of our wooden planters with Amberol self watering half barrel planters made from recycled plastic. Our new displays will help to brighten the spirits on dark, dreary Winter days.
Gateway Planters Dismantled

Floral Friends are now dismantling three of the village gateway gateway planters as they have been constantly targeted by thieves and due to their position have been difficult to maintain. Beesmoor Flower Border August 2020
Monday 31st August
The Beesmoor flower border in August has prominent displays of yellow perennial daisies, pink Sedums and mounds of purple Geraniums among the many other plants still blooming.
The bark chippings in the Sensory Garden were showing signs of wear so Floral Friends have topped them up with wood chippings kindly delivered by Old Down Tree Surgeons. Why not pop along there to enjoy the sights and scents of the flowers and the wood sculptures?

The Beesmoor flower border in July has a range of mid-summer perennials in flower and the interplanted annuals make their own contributions to the display. There is plenty to see and enjoy for passers-by.
